The centre has an 8 lane bowling alley and snack bar. Chauvigny Features two interesting Romanesque churches, both restored in modern times. In total 40 million visitors have been to the park since it opened in 1987 (By comparison Disneyland Paris saw 15.3 million visitors in 2008). Circuit Val du Vienne Le Vigeant Val de Vienne Motor Circuit is Considered a very technical circuit and probably built with car racing in mind. It is similar in size to Oulton Park (UK). The main straight (the pits straight) is 500 meters long. There are a plethora of continuous radius and double apex bends. The back straight is 300 meters long. The track surface is excellent with very few bumps. The fast guys lap at around 1minute 40 seconds. The best track days are organised by TEAM 18 THE POMPIERS. They run a very successful endurance road race team and are all bike mad. Track days are seen as a legitimate way of letting road riders test their machines in safe and controlled conditions. All sorts turn up from kids on 125 screamers to pukka racers. Racing kit is optional from full leathers to jeans and trainers! As long as you are insured and the bike has all the legal documents. Your safety is YOUR responsibility (Typical French pragmatism). 5 sessions of 25minutes are the norm. Le Vigeant also hosts some interesting events. In June there is a 3 day charity event hosted by the Ferrari Owners Club. 500 Ferraris and other exotic cars are quite a sight. The Super Bike Championship, Formula 4 and French Touring Car Championship are also hosted at the circuit. FISHING A favourite pass time of the French apart from Wine, cheese and cycling.
