Maison Sarcelle is situated in a large garden on a hillside one kilometer outside the charming village of Varages in the Haut Var. There are wonderful views over the Provencal countryside. The house is large with three double bedrooms each with an 'en suite' shower room and wc. There is a large sitting room with a dining area and a very well equipped kitchen. It has a dishwasher, washing machine, oven, hob, fridge/freezer and microwave. Outside there is a swimming pool which is fenced, 9 x 4 metres. The area is quiet but near enough to numerous interesting places to make it a very good center for your holiday . The coast at St Tropez is just over an hour by car as is Aix en Provence, and Marseille. Nice is just over a hour and a half, and Avignon two hours. The Gorge du Verdon and the Lac St Croix is close and so is Cotignac and many other delightful villages. Varages is known for its faeance which it has been producing since the mid 1600's. There is a museum and numerous shops where you can find beautiful pieces. Maison Sarcelle has an apartment on the lower level which is occupied, this has its own entrance and is completely seperate.

REviews for Maison Sarcelle , Varages:
My husband and I stayed in Maison Sarcelle for a week in early September 2012 and had a terrific time. The website photos and information are completely accurate, so i won't repeat the info you'll find there. The owner, Ruth Teale, has a small apartment on the bottom level of her house, which she retreats to when there are guests in the upper level, so it felt very much as though we were staying in the comfortable and well-equipped home of a friend. From our written communications I didn't know how very much we would like Ruth, whose good sense of humour doesn't shine through in emails but certainly does in person. We loved breakfasting on one patio and then "coming home" after a day's adventures to have a refreshing swim and then supper on the front patio. (Ruth apparently swims only when it's scorching hot, so we had the pool all to ourselves.) We also found it a very convenient base to explore that part of France.
