In landscape of woods & meadows, 4 character guest rooms in outbuilding of old Forez farm, restored by Juliette (owner and ceramic artist), using traditional and natural materials and methods (beamed ceilings, lime render, etc.). Living room with basic kitchen. No-smoking rooms. Wildlife and plants (loan of binoculars, books). Peaceful setting, no neighbours. Easy access. Hiking/cycling guides. Mostly organic breakfast with homemade bread and brioche, 25 sorts of tea, 4 or 7 homemade jams (according to the season, served in ceramic dishes created by Juliette. Fluent English and German spoken, rudiments of Catalan and Russian. Located between Saint-Etienne and Roanne.
Description of Chambres D'Hotes:My guest rooms are located in an old farmhouse renovated with authenticity forézienne and including 4 guest rooms and a cottage:
- Galatea room is equipped with a bed 140. It has a beautiful French ceiling in oak and poplar and lime plaster tinged yellow ocher. It is on the ground floor, facing south and its total area is 22 sqm including a small shower room with W.C .. 70 per night, breakfast and access to the herbal tea included
- Daphnis the room is accessible by stairs and a gallery forézienne. It has an area of 25 m² with a bathroom and a toilet in the bathroom. It is equipped for 3 people with 1 bed 160 and 1 single bed. 90 per night breakfast and access to the herbal tea included
- Amarante room with 4 single bedsIt is located upstairs and has a surface of 21 sqm plus a clearance of about 5 m², a shower room with WC 4 m². It has a separate entrance on the ground floor. 100 per night breakfast and access to the herbal tea included
- the Celadon room is a duplex with a total area of 30 sqm plus a bathroom with WCisolated. It is oriented to the west. The ground floor is limed in matching red ocher to orange tiled slab Oc. This part is equipped with a double bed. The floor has a beautiful curved oak frame and poplar and coated with white lime, with wide oiled wooden floor. La Bastie d'Urfé (4 km) Chateau of Claude and Honoré d'Urfé located in the municipality of Saint-Etienne le Molard (= Mole small mount> = Molard little small mount.....!). La Batie is home, jewel of the Renaissance, that was it built Honoré d'Urfé, the father of the first French novel, Astrea, whose action takes place on the land, along the Lignon between Montverdun, Marcilly-le-Châtel and Poncins. Another mecca Department which takes place every summer a festival bringing together numerous shows of all kinds. The Department of Loire was a major producer of wine before the phylloxera that arrived in the area with 20 years late, but unlike other departments, the vineyard was not replanted after all this big mess. Assier Museum of Feurs (9 km) The Museum of Assier includes the Archaeological Museum (Feurs is built on an old Gallo-Roman city) and the Horse Museum (Feurs has hyppodromme...). Ecopole of Drill (10 km) Development of the banks of the Loire and former gravel pits in order to observe and understand the ecosystem of the river and its inhabitants furry and feathered. Take the N 89 to left towards Boen, then after passing over the highway, left to Poncins. Follow Poncins to the village. Cross Poncins, then after the town hall, turn right towards Montverdun. From there, count 3.5 km (going "The Perrichons" and a farm on the right and an area of undergrowth). La Loge, indicated by a small blue sign, is just out of this underbrush, right. We do not see the house until the last moment. Parking is marked with a sign "Gîtes de France" on the pillar of the portal.
