"La Ferme de la Baie" is set amidst the beautiful countryside of north-east Brittany, close to the Normandy border. The property has three delightful holiday cottages - Le Fenil (sleeps 8 people), Abricot (sleeps 4 people) & Romarin (sleeps 4 people). Bed & Breakfast accommodation is available in the traditional Breton farmhouse. Sporting, leisure and activity breaks can also be arranged for guests.

Situated just a few miles away from the coast, "La Ferme de la Baie" has stunning views of Mont-St-Michel and the picturesque towns of Roz-sur-Couesnon, Pontorson and Dol-de-Bretagne are close by.

Description of Chambres D'Hotes:

"La Ferme de la Baie" is in a rural hamlet, La Rue, and is surrounded by peaceful, unspoilt countryside. Built in the 18th century, the farm and its buildings originally formed part of the estate belonging to La Rue's manoir.

Fresh bread is delivered to La Rue three times a week or is available every day from the boulangerie in Roz-sur-Couesnon (a mile away). Roz-sur-Couesnon also has a boucherie and a small grocery shop.

Set in two acres of gardens and grounds, "La Ferme de la Baie" has three stone cottages for self-catering holidays - Le Fenil (for 8 people), Romarin (for 4 people) and Abricot (for 4 people). All three cottages are south facing and each has its own enclosed garden area. In addition, Bed & Breakfast accommodation is available in the main farmhouse.

We aim to make your stay with us as enjoyable as possible and will do all that we can to ensure that your holiday runs smoothly. Should you have any specific needs or requirements, do please let us know.

Please note that our properties are non-smoking. Pets may sometimes be allowed - please ask for further details.

We are open all year round, both for long weekends and mid-week stays. Peace and tranquillity are guaranteed, along with cosy accommodation and a very warm welcome!

"La Ferme de la Baie" is ideal for family holidays and groups of friends wanting to enjoy a break together.

Our eight hens and three Ouessant sheep (a miniature breed from the west of Brittany) will definitely entertain young and old alike!

Leisure and sporting activity breaks - such as cycling and golf weekends - are hosted outside the main school holiday dates. Bed & Breakfast accommodation is available in the farmhouse and larger groups are accommodated in our cottages.

Our most famous local attraction is Mont-St-Michel and we have wonderful views of it from both the front and the rear of our property. Mont-St-Michel is a gentle cycle ride away through the Polders - a vast expanse of farmland which was reclaimed by the Dutch in the 18th century. All year round, you can explore the bay of Mont-St-Michel on foot or on horseback - and at certain times of year, the sea produces a stunning effect when it rushes in to fill the bay at high tide. The closest beaches are at Hirel and Cherrueix (15 minutes). As you travel along the coast towards Cancale, there are many sandy coves to explore. Just north of Cancale, there is a safe family beach at Le Verger. Travelling eastwards into Normandy, the lively seaside towns along the Cotentin peninsula have wide sandy beaches, which are ideal for children. Mont-St-Michel bay is famous for its mussels, which are the only AOC approved mussels in France. Oysters are also farmed in the bay. The town of Cancale (19 miles) has too many mouth-watering seafood restaurants to choose from! It is a "world gastronomy site" and is home to acres of oyster beds. Closer to home, many of the local restaurants offer dishes made with the famous salt marsh (pré-salé) lamb. We love to cater for our guests and offer light suppers on the day you arrive, home-cooked meals to eat in your cottage and four-course evening meals with wine in the main farmhouse. Please ask us for further details. Dinan: a mediaeval town with a castle set high above the river. Walk down to the port through ancient cobbled streets lined with timber-framed houses. Avranches: holy books from Mont-St-Michel can be seen in the scriptorium and the town also has a World War II museum. Cancale: marvel at the oyster beds and visit the oyster museum. Cherrueix: sample sand yachting or take the Petit Train out to the mussel beds. Combourg: explore the lovely castle. Dol-de-Bretagne: the town has a beautiful cathedral and a cathedral museum and is also famous as the last stand for Conan. He was finally defeated by William the Conqueror with Harold's help. Harold was later shot in the eye by his ally. Etang-Boulet: this 300-acre lake is surrounded by a forest which has several marked walks to follow. It also has a sandy beach. Water sports, such as sailing, are available and it is also possible to hire bicycles there. Fougères: an impressive mediaeval castle, which is thought to be the largest in Europe. There is also a pretty park near the castle. Le Petit Mont-St-Michel: a model of Mont-St-Michel. Children can also have a go on old-fashioned mechanical rides, trampolines, go-karts and an assortment of cycles. Adults can join in the fun, too! St-Malo: a fortified town with huge sandy beaches. The town also has an aquarium. Rotheneuf: sculptured rocks overlooking the sea in a truly amazing location (east of St-Malo). Weird creatures and characters were carved into the cliffs by a hermit. They are now a fascinating tourist attraction.
