Appleton's has 4 bedrooms, 2 of which are on the ground floor, Our B&B is perfectly situated in the Centre of France, near Argenton sur Creuse, easily accessible from the Auto Route, ideal for a weeks stay or resting point if you are travelling South. 6 hours from Calais and just 10 mins from the A20, exit 17. Set on 2 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, take a stroll through our fruit and vegetable gardens or watch the free range chickens. We are Biker, Gay and Pet friendly.
Description of Chambres D'Hotes:Our 19th Century farmhouse has been renovated to a high standard having made every effort to retain many of the original features, while incorporating modern amenities. We have created a warm, homely atmosphere for your stay. You can soak up the sun, snooze in the shade or enjoy a bottle of wine from our select collection on the terrace. Malcolm and Edward, your hosts, will endeavour to help you make the most of your stay in their home.
Appleton's is situated on 2 acres of beautifully landscaped countryside with a variety of trees, shrubs and lovely flowering borders. We welcome you to take a stroll through the property including our fruit and vegetable gardens, which provide a bountiful harvest throughout the year for guests and ourselves. Our free-range chickens and ducks are quite entertaining and you are most welcome to help us gather eggs for your breakfast!
Dining is a relaxing experience served alfresco under the garden pergola, weather permitting. Evening meals often include organic meats from a neighbouring farm www.le-bois.biz and fresh, seasonal produce from our garden. All meals are freshly prepared and we can accommodate any special dietary needs and vegetarian meals. Breakfast is a sumptuous offering of our free-range eggs cooked to order, tomatoes and mushrooms along with an assortment of cereals, yoghurts, toast and a selection of homemade jams and marmalade. Your choice of beverage includes fruit juice, unlimited tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
Attractions:Our guest house is ideally situated 20 minutes from The Brenne National Park, in the beautiful Berry Region – Department of Indre (36), which opens up a diverse area to discover. Bird watching, canoeing, cycling, golf, horse-riding, rambling or water sports at the Lake in Eguzon. It is also a haven for fishermen, with lakes in abundance. We are approximately 3 hours drive from the Mountain Region of the Massif Central (1886m) Situated on the edge of three counties you can profit from a diverse range of activities. Poitiers is about an hour and a half away, famous for the fantastic cinematographical centre of Futuroscope An hour further south is Limoges with its beautiful cathedral and, of course, plenty of opportunities to purchase gifts of the outstanding Limoges porcelain. It is also an area of great historic interest. The important chateau at Chateaugillaume is an hours drive and further a field the Chateau of Sarzay, which is in the process of being restored to its full glory. In a wonderful setting with four towers it is well worth a visit. Or visit the Valley of Frescoes between St. Savin and Saulge.

Carry on down the D927 for about 6 Km, on the D927 just after a small lake on the right hand side there is a road off to your right the D30 direction CHAVIN, you will see our sign Appletons B&B, take this road and follow it for 4 KM, then at the stop sign turn right into the Hamlet of Bonnilly, if you miss the turning on the D927 you pass a small airport on the right and the next road after this is the D40 again direction Chavin. The hamlet of Bonnilly is the first you will come too, we are the 3rd road on the right, there is a sign on the left directing you right down our road, the road is quite small, we are at the end of the road, you will see our sign and the Gites de France sign as well.
